Projects Archive

A major role of a volunteer or intern with the service is to assist with both departmental and museum-wide projects. For example, this may include greeting guests at events, helping with activities for children, or research. In some cases, the volunteer service begins preparation many months in advance. There are always on-going and up-coming projects the Volunteer Service is involved with, with the current listed below.

2016 is the year of…

Greece

Volunteers can think how to educate audience about Greece/Ancient Greece by organizing activities for the Festivals like VK Fest and computer design competition “Greece through the Ages”.

Cinema

Volunteers can suggest their ideas concerning cinema and film production for the VKONTAKTE Festival, “Discover your Europe in the Hermitage” Festival and trail, International Volunteer Day and others.

24th September 2016

Festival and Quest “Discover your Europe in the Hermitage”

The festival is based on European culture, such as film, literature, poetry and music from across the continent. Recently, we have been working on a treasure hunt linking artifacts of the Hermitage to European films.
September-October 2016

Computer Graphics Competition “Greece through the Ages”

Volunteers research the information about Greek culture and make up the topics of the competition. Based on the collected information volunteers can make a introductory presentation for prospective participants. After the works are submitted, volunteers participate in evaluation of the works and organize a memorable award event.

5th December 2016

International Volunteers Day

Because 2016 is the Year of cinema volunteers can make the Hermitage volunteers film festival. The volunteers can shoot and submit their films until November 2016 inclusively.

Advisory Board Meeting
Volunteers will greet Advisory Board members at the airport and assist with the general running of the meeting.

November 2016

Volunteers help to mantle a photo exhibition, give out the ear phones, register participants
– “Museum Olympus”
Volunteers meet guests, organize entertainment program.
– “DobroForum”
Volunteers participate in discussions, share their experience with other volunteers, present their achievements from 2016.

December 2016

– Hermitage Days
Volunteers meet guests of the exhibitions, help with miscelaneous tasks.
– “Cultural Forum”
Volunteers participate in sessions, discussions.

Archaeological expeditions

Archaeological workshop and field school 2016.

Archaeological workshop and field school: researches of Neolithic piledwellings sites in Northwestern Russia.
